Introduction:
M-Omulimisa Innovative Agricultural Services (m-omulimisa.com) is an Ag–tech company that leverages technology to provide agricultural services to farmers in Uganda, especially in Northern Uganda. These services include agro-inputs on credit, agriculture insurance, e-extension services, weather and market information, among others.
In line with the above background M-Omulimisa Innovative Agricultural Services (M-Omulimisa) therefore, would like to recruit competent and dedicated personnel to fill up the position of Field Assistant.

Reporting to the Regional supervisor, the position holder will be responsible for coordinating all M-Omulimisa activities in their area of operation. He/she will provide direct supervision to the Agents on the ground and VSLA groups that we work with.
Responsibilities and duties
- Work with village agents and farmer groups to mobilize farmers and promote our products and services, aggregate input demand through our Mobile-based Platform to assess and screen farmer groups interested in M-Omulimisa Inputs Loan Facility, filled accurately and submit Input Loan application forms to partner Microfinance Institutions (MFIs) for appraisal.
- Work with village agents and partner MFIs to ensure timely repayment of loans disbursed to farmers under the Inputs Loan Facility.
- Liaise with partner agro input companies to source for quality agro inputs and Identify potential Off takers and mobilize farmers for collective marketing
- Provide technical support and backstopping to the Agents and groups in regard to key activities.
- Responsible for the implementation of M-Omulimisa training in line with the approved work plan.
- Train and mentor Agents and groups for quality performance and implementation of M-Omulimisa activities.
- Plan for and participate in the group training on VSLA methodology, financial literacy, advanced business skills and other identified training needs
- Support data collection by Agents and Verify data collected by the Agents and submit them to Regional supervisor.
- Consolidate weekly and monthly work plan and submit to the regional supervisor for approval.
- Prepare and timely submit to the regional supervisor the monthly activity progress and any other reports as may be required.
- Design sensitization messages to be delivered by the Agents to the stakeholders
- Participate in the preparation of quarterly and annual work plans to ensure inclusion of all project economics and livelihoods activities.
- Establish and foster good relations with the Government, NGOs, financial institutions, community-based organizations and private sector partners
- Participate in monitoring and evaluation of all the activities in his/her area of operation.
- Participate in the monthly and quarterly reports writing and submission to M-Omulimisa Management and donor as required from time to time.
- And any other duties and responsibilities that will be assigned to him/her from time to time by the supervisor.
Desired Qualifications and experience
- Minimum of Diploma in Agriculture, Business Administration, Micro-Finance, Social Sciences, Social Works and Social Administration, Public Administration, Education, Development Studies or relevant diploma from a recognized institution or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Three years working experience in community mobilization, data collection and trainings especially with VSLA methodology, Financial Literacy training, Business Development skills training and livelihoods empowerment approach.
- Good communication skills and ability to mobilize and properly communicate with the community at different levels.
- Good knowledge of computer application including; MS Words, Excel, PowerPoint Presentations.
- Skills in data collection and data verification.
- Ability to perform and achieve targets timely with minimum supervision
- Ability to ride motorcycle.
- MUST be willing to settle in any district of allocation.
- MUST be aged between 22-35 years old.
- MUST know how to ride a motorcycle.
Language Requirement: Must be fluent in English language both written and oral communication. Knowledge of the local language is an added advantage (Acholi and Lango).
Skills and Knowledge: Coordination, interpersonal skills, communication, writing skills and ability to work under pressure to meet deadline with minimal supervision.
